These side caps look like they are from World War 2, however they date from postwar right up until the 1980's. They are mostly in unissued condition but have been sitting around in storage for decades so might have some fading/storage wear etc.
Despite the formal function of a 'side cap' these have practical field functions as well. The main one is the ushanka like flaps that fold down and can be tied up under your chin when it gets cold. The caps are made from a reasonably thick wool blend to help mitigate a Bulgarian winter.
An iconic Soviet era piece of history, grab one of these side caps for the Cold War collection today.
